A Den Chief is a Scouts BSA member who assists a Cub Scout Den Leader. You serve as a role model and scouting expert for younger Cubs, helping with:
Meetings: Leading games, songs, and skits.
Skills: Teaching outdoor skills and helping with rank advancement.
Recruiting: Encouraging Webelos to transition into a Scouts BSA Troop.
To join Pack 948 as a Den Chief, follow these steps to ensure all leaders are informed and safety protocols are met:
Request Approval: Get permission from your Senior Patrol Leader and Scoutmaster.
Send an Inquiry Email: Email the Pack 948 Cubmaster at cubmaster@pleasantonpack948.org
Mandatory CC Policy: you MUST include your Scoutmaster and at least one Parent or Guardian

To be officially "Trained" in this position, you should:
Complete Online Training: Take the online Den Chief Training
Rank Advancement: This counts as a Leadership Position of Responsibility for Star, Life, and Eagle ranks.
The Service Award: Earn the prestigious red, white, and blue Den Chief Service Award Cord by serving for one full year and completing award requirements.
Troop Awareness: Cub Scouts get to learn about your Troop from you!
