Pack 948 FAQ

What is Pack 948?

Pack 948 is a Cub Scout Pack in Pleasanton, California. We accept Scouts from any school in Pleasanton. Our Scouts usually attend Valley View, Vintage Hills, Mohr and Sunol.

Where and When do you meet?

Our Pack Meetings (where every member attends) take place on the second Tuesday of each month during the school year.

Our Dens (grade-level) Meetings take place 1-2 times a month and the location depends on the event (local park, leader's house, etc)

We also have some Friday meetings and camps and hikes often occur during weekends.

How many Scouts are in the Pack?

Our Pack averages around 50 Scouts divided into grade-level Dens. Den size will vary. At around 10 kids, we would look to create a second den for the grade-level.

What happens after 5th Grade?

In the fifth grade, Scouts are able to earn their Arrow of Light badge. This is the final badge earned as a Cub Scout and at this point, the scout has a decision to make. Do they continue forward in Scouting? If they decide that they would like to pursue scouting further, we will help guide them to a 6th-12th grade Troop. Which troop is ultimately the scout's decision.

Our Boys typically join Troop 948

Our Girls typically join Troop 998G

How do I get started?

We dedicated an entire Getting Started Blog postings around how to get started, buying the right gear, getting your uniform correct and getting your K-5 child outdoors and scouting!
